Windows 2008 has improved terminal server functionality, but by how much compared to Citrix is the question. Hope this link answers that question

This weekend I had to test a vm from a SAN snapshot. Easy uh. Turns out there’s a couple of extra configuration steps involved with Vmware that I needed to do.
